Google Strongly Shifts To Mobile Web

By Geoff | December 20, 2010

Mobile Web Gets Increased Google Attention

It’s apparent in many ways now that Big Google is investing heavily in the mobile web and shifting attention strongly in the direction of android driven Smartphones and apps and everything else ‘handheld’.. it’s patently obvious to web watchers, that:

1. Google is pushing development of its Android mobile operating system, very much in partnership with Samsung and others like Motorola and Sony Ericcson, LG, NEC etc. Android is into 2.2 version now. It has become a strong competitor for the iOS of Apple Computer Corporation.

2. Google recently acquired AdMob.com which is the largest platform for placing tiny PPC and CPM advertisements directly on to mobile smartphones, including the Tablets like Apple iPad and Samsung’s Galaxy touch screen tablet. (running on Google android OS).

3. Google made Places available for businesses in local mobile search. This is really like Google providing millions of free mini sites for business on its own servers.

4. Google has a mobile optimized version of Gmail running.

There are more signs of the shift but these 4 are the major ones! Other developments – July/August, 2010 launch of Mobile Monopoly, apparently by 18 year old Adam Horwitz. Obviously there was a large, competent marketing team behind this highly successful mobile marketing training launch.

Affiliates who do marketing on The Internet may or may not have noticed the appearance of OfferMobi.com on the affiliate marketing scene — totally optimized affiliate offers for the mobile web of hand held digital devices.

Software apps for mobiles: Every sizeable computer company is finding that it now needs to develop software applications for iPhones and Androids.

SEARCH is rapidly going mobile so prepare yourself for these Earth quaking CHANGES on the world wide web.

Apps are certainly all the rage. Big media Cos. like Time and Warner bros and many more magazines and newspapers are having classy apps developed for the mobile platforms like iOS, webOS, android and mobile Windows 7 and Google is definitely redirecting resources towards providing all available data from the mobile web in its tailored search results.

LOCAL mobile is the next big business (really, small business) marketing explosion, using smartphones and tiny, optimized, mobile web sites with fully secure SSL functionality.

Google Places is a presence for each business, on the house of Google, Mountain View, Silicon Valley.
